Our Programmes

Full of fun, excitement and laughter!

Our curriculum is carefully and thoughtfully designed specifically for young ones.

Our students will learn the fundamentals of Taekwondo under the careful supervision of our well-trained instructors, in a manner that’s engaging, educational and enriching!

Singapore’s leading martial arts programme for ages 5 to 10, our classes are fun, challenging and goal-oriented.

T-Kids is a comprehensive and intuitive programme that introduces children to the fundamentals of Taekwondo, and the practical application to self-defence.

Our special Teen-KwonDo classes allow teenagers to train together in a structured and disciplined environment for healthy emotional and psychological expression.

Our syllabus allows teenagers to experience various facets of Taekwondo, with the goal of identifying and nurturing them into well-rounded martial artists.

We teach Taekwondo as a complete system of kicks, punches, hand and foot blocks, sweeps, joint locks, grappling, throws and competitive Olympic-style Taekwondo.

Our technical excellence stems form our analytical approach and dedication towards teaching Taekwondo.

Rivas-JH Kim Taekwondo has produced hundreds of young black belts over the years. As a result, we also offer intermediate, advanced, and “Poom belts only” classes for children who have earned higher ranks in Taekwondo so that they can be challenged appropriately and learn the more complex aspects of this martial art.

Our Competition Team sessions are designed and planned to challenge our students, to push them further, and are at a much higher level compared to regular classes.

Grandmaster Rivas reviews the progress of our students regularly, and will encourage them to participate in competitions commensurate with their levels, both locally and abroad.

Haedong Gumdo is the martial art of the Korean sword, and the Chosun Haedong Gumdo Association is founded and spearheaded by Grandmaster Hwang in Korea, and by Grandmaster Rivas in Southeast Asia

What People Are Saying

“We’ve been coming to the JH Kim Taekwondo, Katong branch for the past 6 months and send our two toddlers (aged 3 and 4) — they absolutely love it. The trainers here are outstanding with young children: patient, encouraging, and brilliant at keeping sessions fun while still structured. We’ve genuinely seen our kids improve week by week, not just physically but also in confidence, focus, and listening skills. It’s a fantastic environment for exercise, discipline, and positive development at a young age. Couldn’t recommend the Katong team highly enough.”

— Sam Vicary

“My son has been attending Taekwondo classes here and he genuinely enjoys them. He likes the coach and the teachers, and it shows in the way he stays engaged throughout the lesson. We’re so glad to have found a place where he’s not only learning discipline and confidence, but also having a lot of fun.”

“My sons have been training at the Taekwondo centre in Tampines Hub for almost two years, and the experience has been truly transformative. The well-structured and progressive training programs have not only equipped them with essential self-defense skills but also instilled in them the right mindset, discipline, and confidence. Every grading has been a smooth and successful journey, thanks to the dedicated guidance from the coaching team. We deeply appreciate how each session is thoughtfully designed to be engaging, purposeful, and empowering. Thank you for making their martial arts journey so meaningful!”
