OUR AFFILIATIONS
Our school’s rich heritage starts from Boston, where Grandmaster JH Kim started his Taekwondo school. The first JH Kim Taekwondo logo is the unique blue logo with the name of the school - Jae Hun Kim Taekwondo Institute. This original blue and black logo is currently being used in Boston, as well as within all other franchised schools, locally and abroad.
OhDoKwan was one of the original martial arts schools (‘kwan’) that opened up in Korea after the end of World War II, by General Choi Hong Hi (widely regarded as the founder of modern Taekwondo) in 1954. Initially started as a military school, it evolved to include civilian training, and eventually grew in popularity, and is currently present in many countries worldwide.
Grandmaster Rivas is the President of the World Taekwondo OhDoKwan Singapore Federation.
Kukkiwon was established by the South Korean government in 1972 to promote Taekwondo as the national martial art of Korea, and is the official international Taekwondo governing organization. Kukkiwon is also known as the World Taekwondo Headquarters, and home of the World Taekwondo Academy.
Our Poom & Black Belt students are encouraged to apply for their Kukkiwon certificate as part of the certification process, as Kukkiwon certificates are recognised officially worldwide.
Singapore Taekwondo Federation (STF) is Singapore's national governing body for Taekwondo. It is affiliated to World Taekwondo (WT) and Singapore National Olympic Council (SNOC).
STF was established in 1975 to promote and increase participation of Taekwondo in Singapore, through the unification, co-ordination and organization of Taekwondo activities including national and international tournaments, demonstrations and gradings.
In Singapore, all affiliates and their students are governed by the rules and regulations of the Singapore Taekwondo Federation for grading matters, competitions, courses and programs.
The Chosun Haedong Gumdo Association was founded by Grandmaster Hwang Chi Gon, and currently has member associations throughout the world. CHGA aims to inspire martial artists through the philosophies of the great warriors of the Chosun Dynasty, achieving balance within the body and mind, through training with the Korean sword.
Grandmaster Rivas is the President of Chosun Haedong Gumdo Association, Southeast Asia.
The World Hapkido Martial Arts Federation was founded in 1968 to promote and sustain the unique martial art of Hapkido, and currently has affiliates all over the world.
Grandmaster Rivas is currently a Hapkido Black Belt 7th Dan, and a certified Class 2 Master Instructor.
